Five male teachers of the Polytechnic Staff School, Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin-Kebbi, Kebbi State,  have been dismissed for allegedly impregnating a SS3 female pupil, identified only as Sa’adatu.

It was gathered that the pregnancy had attracted public outcry, which prompted the school management to set up a committee to investigate the matter.

The victim could not, however, identify who among the teachers was responsible for the pregnancy.

A reliable source in the college said that the committee submitted its report on Monday and recommended that all the five teachers identified as lovers of the pupils be dismissed.

“The management has dismissed the teachers and the victim has also been expelled from the school.

“Each of the teachers confessed that they had sexual relationship with the victim separately.

“The concerned teachers were sacked, while a male pupil, who was discovered to be her boyfriend, was also expelled,” the source said.

The school vice-principal, Mallam Oumar Woulandakoye, who confirmed the incident, stated that the parties involved had appeared before the school management board.

“I will advise that you wait for the final decision of the board because I just received their memo now that they are going to sit on the matter.

“You can come back by Friday to get details,” he said.--Punch
