The Borno State Police Command paraded a 16-year-old student, Umar Goni, who slit the throat of a junior student identified as Jubril Mato.
The senior student of Elkanemi College of Islamic Theology Maiduguri reportedly slit the throat of the 11-year-old Mato.
The junior student, Jubril, who is currently on admission at the intensive care unit of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital was, according to the report, being punished by the senior student for refusing to run errands for him.
The suspect, Goni, said that he had been telling his parents to remove him from the hostel but they continually declined as such his decision to commit the crime which, according to him, will compel the parents to take him away from the school.
“I did this thing because I told my parents to remove me from the hostel but they did not remove me,” he said.
