Ali Danja, the Kano State House of Assembly member whose mother, Hajia Zainab Danja, was abducted two weeks ago, has revealed that he paid a N40 million ransom to secure her release.
Zainab was abducted from her bedroom in the Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano on January 12, 2021.
Ali Danja is the minority leader of the state House of Assembly and a one-time speaker of the house and of the Kwankwasiyya movement, loyal to former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Danja said they were on their way to pick her from a local government in Jigawa State where the abductors dropped her.
However, neither the Kano nor Jigawa state police command has spoken on the issue as at the time of filing this story.
