The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has rescheduled the primary elections of the party.
In a letter to the National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the opposition party said the state assembly primary election will now hold on Saturday, May 21st 2022 while the election to elect the candidates of the party for House of Representatives is now fixed for Sunday, 22nd May, 2022.
Similarly the election for the candidates to fly the party’s flag in the 109 Senatorial zones will take place Monday, 23rd May, 2022 while the Governorship primaries will take place on Wednesday, 25th May.
However, as a result of the illegal sit-at-home being enforced by some criminal elements in the South East, the Senatorial primaries in the region will be held on Tuesday, 24th May 2022.
The letter to the electoral umpire was signed by the National Chairman, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu and the National Secretary, Sen Samuel Anyanwu
