Chief Nnoli Nnaji has been declared winner of the National Assembly primary election of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, for  Nkanu East and Nkanu West Federal Constituency conducted at Agbani in Enugu State Wednesday.

The PDP returning officer for the constituency, Mr. Vitus Ogechi, who declared the election result after the exercise Wednesday night, said

Nnaji scored a total of 246 votes to defeat the incumbent Rep,  Dr. Emeka Ujam who got 55 votes.

The election which started late Wednesday evening was concluded under floodlights as the

delegates waited patiently for the arrival of electoral material after the accreditation conducted earlier in the day.

The late arrival of electoral materials was said to be due to flight delay from Abuja.

Engr.Uchenna Nwobodo, one of the contestants withdrew  from the race before the primary election commenced.

"With this victory, Chief Nnaji will be consoled for all his efforts twice to move to the green chambers of the National Assembly, first was in 2011 when he swept the primaries election against Princess Peace Nnaji and second in 2015," one of his supporters said while congratulating him on Facebook last night.
