SSS arrests PDP Campaign Spokesperson

Operatives of the Department of State Services have arrested Ben Bako, spokesperson of the People Democratic Party, PDP and whisked him away to Abuja.

Ben Bako, spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, campaign in Kaduna State, was arrested by DSS Saturday night.

The reason for the arrest is not yet clear as men believed to be DSS operatives took him to Abuja.

The arrest has been confirmed by Yakubu Lere, deputy director of publicity of the party, who said Bako was taken by the DSS to Abuja.

The arrest is coming barely five days to the presidential election on Saturday, February 16.

Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party and other chieftains of the main opposition party last week raised alarm about the plan by the federal government to clampdown on members of the party.
