THE General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye Saturday morning urged Nigerians to pray without ceasing for the peace of Nigeria, stressing that the implications of continued blood letting can be very devastating because when a nation’s ground becomes saturated with the blood of the innocent, the ground responds by producing a plague.

Adeboye made the call during the July edition of the church monthly Holy Ghost Service with a theme: “Swimming in Glory: Born to be Great” which was attended by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, presidential candidate in the just concluded elections, Dr. Obi Ezekwesili, Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Dr. Udom Emmanuel and several gospel ministers including General Overseer of Evangelical Outreach Ministries, Prophet Isa El-Buba.

He enjoined all Nigerians not to stop praying for mercy and divine intervention for God to stop the bloodshed in the country.

“The Bible says the life of the animal is in the blood. So, the blood is powerful, and it speaks; it has a voice. So, when you shed blood; when you shed innocent blood, the blood speaks from the earth.
Blood is a very powerful thing, very very powerful.

“And there’s something many people don’t know; when the ground of a nation become saturated with the blood of the innocent, the ground responds by producing a plague. I will give just one illustration; when the ground of Sierra-Leone, for instance, became saturated with the blood of the innocent, a plague came called Ebola. I’m sure you’d remember.

“Somebody then came and brought that Ebola to Nigeria, and he brought it at the time of our convention and people had already come by the thousands from all over Africa, they were already here for the minister’s conference leading to the convention. All the governments around panicked and wrote to me asking what we were going to do.

“I ran to God, Daddy help me, what do I do? If there should be a single case of Ebola in this place during our convention, we are finished because it’d then be carried to the whole world. And Daddy told me one thing, and I’m telling you this now so that you will know why you must pray. He said no problem my son. I will stop the Ebola in Nigeria because the cup of Nigeria is not yet full.

“And you know within two weeks, Ebola vanished from Nigeria. Because at that time the cup of Nigeria is not yet full.

“That’s why I have been crying to you and telling you for almost a year now, please pray that God will have mercy on Nigeria so that this bloodshed can end before our cup is full. Let’s stand and cry to the Almighty God and say ‘Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, stop this bloodshed. Help us Lord. Let this bloodshed end in Jesus mighty name we have prayed. So shall it be in Jesus name. So keep praying for mercy, keep praying for divine intervention,” he pleaded.
