The Chief of the Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, has visited soldiers who were injured following the Boko Haram’s attack of troops in Gorgi, Borno State, where at least 47 soldiers were killed in an explosion.
The army chief visited the injured soldiers on Sunday at the 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital at Maimalari Cantonment Maiduguri, where he went round the hospital and inspected the facilities.
Recall that the Defence Headquarters, Abuja, on March 23 confirmed the deaths of 47 soldiers who are troops of Operation Lafiya Dole in a bomb explosion in Gorgi near Allargano forest in Borno State.
About 39 soldiers were said to have been injured.
The acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col Sagir Musa, confirmed Buratai’s visit in a release.
He said, “The Chief of the Army Staff has visited the wounded at the 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital at Maimalari Cantonment Maiduguri.
“Among the wounded, some have been evacuated to the 44 Reference Hospital, Kaduna State, for more specialist treatment and management.”
