Scores of bandits killed, weapons destroyed by Military Air Strikes at Tsibiri, Manya, Mararraba Maigora in Zamfara

Scores of armed bandits have been neutralized and their camps destroyed in air strikes executed by the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji at 2 separate bandits’ camps, at Tsibiri and Manya in Zurmi Local Government Area  of Zamfara State. 
 
Also,  land troops intercepted and neutralized five bandits, captured four and arrested a notorious logistics supplier of bandits in Mararraba Maigora, Faskari Local Government Area.
 
Coordinator, Defence Media Operations,  Major General John Enenche who disclosed this on Sunday said, "This was achieved as part of offensive operations of Operation Accord to rid the North West and North Central States of armed banditry. 
 
"The air interdiction mission at Tsibiri, which is located 15Km East of Zurmi, was executed on the heels of credible Human Intelligence (HUMINT) reports indicating that the camp, with its clusters of thatched huts nestled close to a group of trees, was being used by the bandits to house their fighters and store their weapons and ammunition. 
 
"Accordingly, 2 Nigerian Air Force attack helicopters were dispatched to engage the location scoring accurate hits on the target area leading to the destruction of the structures and the weapons and ammunition stored in them as well as the neutralization of bandits in the huts and surrounding bushes. 
 
"The attack helicopters later conducted an air strike on another camp South of Manya, which also resulted in the killing of more armed bandits, including some of their leaders, as they gathered for a meeting at the location. 
 
Similarly, troops intercepted and neutralized killed five bandits, captured four and arrested a notorious logistics supplier of the bandits in Mararraba Maigora, Faskari LGA..
 
Enenche said, "In continuation of clearance operations against Bandits and Cattle rustlers  in parts of Zamfara State, troops of Operation Katsina  under Operation Accord on 5 June 2020 intercepted a Bandits' Gun-runner and Logistics supplier.
 
"Items recovered include 496 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and one Bajaj Motorcycle in Mararraba Maigora in Faskari LGA.
 
"Similarly, in a cordon and search  Operation at Yauyau and Zandam villages troops neutralized 3 Bandits and captured 4. 
 
"Items recovered include 7 Dane guns, 3  mobile phones and two Motorcycles. 
 
"Those captured are in custody for interrogations.
 
 "Furthermore, on 6 June 2020 troops engaged fleeing bandits along Dunya- Dangeza road and recovered 2 Dane guns and 4 Motorcycles.
 
"Additionally, troops destroyed the Daban Jabi camp of a notorious Bandit Leader known as Dan Jangeru. 
 
"Also at Warnu village 2 bandits were neutralized while others escaped with gunshot wounds, one AK  47 rifle was recovered in the process.
 
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, commended the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji for their professionalism and directed them to remain resolute whilst continuing to provide close air support for ongoing ground operations, towards accomplishing the directives of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) to restore normalcy in the North West and North Central Zones of the Country.
