Ortom
The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has declared two work-free days for all civil servants in the state.
This, according to the governor, is to allow workers in the state to engage in farming activities.
Ortom, during an interaction with journalists in Makurdi, said the work-free days were Thursday and Friday (today).
The directive, according to the governor, would help the state to produce more food.
Ortom said, “Workers will be allowed to come to office three days. On Wednesdays, when they close from work, they can travel to their communities to farm from Thursday till Saturday.
“This will help the civil servants, particularly now that we are in planting season till July.”
