The Charm
The Charm

The discovery of charm in the premises of Nsukka local government area of Enugu state has thrown the entire staff  into confusion and panic.

The strange discovery came few days after the death of two  Chairmen of the lcoal government , Hon Patrick Omeje and his predecessor Hon. Chinwe Ugwu.

There were rumours that the big charm discovered by a Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Paul Obayi popularity called Okunerere,  could be responsible for the sudden deaths of the two council officials  but this  has been dispelled by the local government authorities.

In a statement issued by the Media Adviser to Nsukka Council Chairman, Ejike Okpe, the council denied the rumour.

The statement reads: "This is to inform the good people of Nsukka LGA and indeed, the general public that there is no truth in the rumour making the rounds, holding that the charm discovered within the premises of Nsukka LGA Headquarters, by Rev. Fr. Paul Obayi, (Okunerere), was discovered in the Executive Chairman’s Office.

"This is an ugly distortion of the truth, that must have been orchestrated by the enemies of the progress of Nsukka LGA and her good people."

Ugwueze, Nsukka LG  Chairman

He said that the newly inaugurated adminstration of Hon. Barr Cosmas Ibeziako Ugwueze, 'remains focused, with its eyes consistently on the ball and can never be distracted by these peddlers of falsehood.

The True Picture:

"On Tuesday, July 7th, 2020, having laid his departed predecessor, Hon. Chief Patrick Omeje, (God rest his soul), to eternal rest, the previous day, the Executive Chairman of Nsukka LGA, decided to begin his regime and usher in his new adminstration with a Holy Mass; re-committing Nsukka LGA into the hands of God; sanctifying the entire Headquarters and its adjoining environs.

"To do justice to that, Rev. Father Paul Obayi, (Okunerere), well known for his sanctity and pious dispositions, was sought to celebrate the Holy Mass.

"After the spirit-lifting Holy Mass, tagged ‘Mass of Peace’, held at the LGA Headquarters, the Rev. Father Okunerere, moved round the admistrative block, entering the offices of the Chairman and the Vice Chairman, to bless and consecrate them.

"After that, the spirit-led Rev Father, moved round the vast premises of the Headquarters, consecrating the entire landscape and blessing everything in his way.

"When he got to a section of the expansive Headquarters, behind the admistrative complex, called, ‘works yard’, he consecrated the entire area also, also entering the offices, there.

"In the works yard, chief among the structures there, was a security post, used as an office by the Neighbourhood Watch. It was while inside the security post that he discovered the said charm.

"The general public is hereby informed that at no time was any form of charm or ungodly item seen in or discovered from the Nsukka LGA Chairman’s or Vice Chairman’s office.

"Also, the general public is hereby, urged and requested to disregard, dispel and ignore, in its entirety, this blatant falsehood that must have come from the pit of hell.

"Nsukka LGA and her good people are of God and will remain so and the LGA Secretariat has been wholly sanctified.

"Hon. Barr. Cosmas Ugwueze, Chairman, Nsukka LGA, a devout Christian of the Catholic faith, like his boss, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Gentle Lion of Enugu State, has handed Nsukka LGA, into the hands of God."
