Gunmen kidnap Delta LG Chair, Okorodudu after attending PDP Congress

Gunmen at about 8:25 pm on Saturday kidnapped the Warri North Local Government Council Chairman, Mr. Aduge Okorodudu.

The gunmen, who waylaid the victim’s vehicle, are presently heading towards Ovwian Area in Udu Local Government.

Officers and men of the Nigeria Police in collaboration with the Udu Central Vigilante are said to be on the trail of the gunmen.

Okorodudu, was reportedly kidnapped while being driven home by his driver after attending the state Congress party congress of the People's Democratic Party, PDP on Saturday.

“They were just returning from Asaba where he had attended the State party congress when the gunmen attacked his vehicle along Mbiaku Link Road in Warri GRA, the driver was shot before he was taken away, as we speak to you, the driver is receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital while we are yet to hear from those who took him away” a source disclosed.

The incident has caused serious tension among residents of Udu and the political class in the area.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, is yet to confirm the development.
