Some armed men suspected to be herdsmen allegedly attacked officials of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation while they were working in Benue state.
One person died while several others were left injured in the attack.
The incident reportedly occoured on Tuesday at Tse Torkula which is a border community between Nasarawa and Benue state in Guma local government area of the state.
The officials came under heavy fire while working on the pipeline with one person killed while others were hospitalised.
Mr. Fatai Owosenyi who is the commissioner of police reportedly confirmed the attack.
He however said the attack could have been carried out by bandits operating in the area. (Vanguard)
