Edo Head of Service kidnapped

There was apprehension among residents of Benin-City, Edo State capital Saturday evening following reports of the kidnap of the Head of the Service, Mr. Anthony Okungbowa.

The circumstances of the kidnap were yet to be revealed but reports said the incident occurred on Saturday evening.

Security sources disclosed that Okungbowa was kidnapped at gunpoint and whisked to an unknown destination, while the hoodlums are yet to reach members of the family of the victim or the state government.

The disturbing development came at a time Governor Godwin Obaseki was proposing a scheme to apprehend prisoners who escaped from the two prisons in the state capital.
