Gunmen in the early hours of today (Sunday) gruesomely murdered a Saudi Arabia based International Oil Worker,  Ogacheko Atanu, at Idah in Kogi State.

The Kogi State Police Command confirmed the incident saying that it was working tirelessly to track down the killers.

It was gathered that Ogacheko Atanu was shot dead by the unknown assailants in the early hours of Sunday at his residence in GRA Idah.

According to the State Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Edeh, some gunmen stormed the residence of Ogacheko, refused all his pleas to save his life and take whatever they want.

He said that the gunmen refused to heed his pleas and  went ahead to kill him.

The Police Commissioner said the Gunmen went with the GSM handset of Ogacheko and abducted his female guest but left her handset behind.

The CP said the police have covered so much ground in trying to fish out those behind the dastardly act so as to bring them to book.

The Commissioner said the Police were informed shortly after the incident, adding that the information made available by the security guard on what transpired between the gunmen and his boss is helping the police in tracking the whereabout of the culprits.

He, however, assured that the police would not rest until it arrest the pepatrators of the gruesome act.

Ogacheko an indigene of Idah was in his country home for the Christmas and New year holiday.

His remains has been deposited at the Lokoja Specialist Hospital mogue.
