There was confusion at old Birnin Yero town along Kaduna-Zaria Highway when gunmen abducted three housewives in the community.

It was gathered from local sources in the community that 10 people were abducted when the armed men stormed the area around 11 pm on Monday.

A resident, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, said that among the victims were two sons of the community leader.

According to him, the armed men raided many houses during the operation.

“Most of the people in the community were not aware of the bandits’ presence in the village because they didn’t fire shots during the operation.”

“They picked two sons of our community leader and other residents, including three housewives, before fleeing,” he said.

When contacted, the state public relation Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, promised to call back but had not done so as of the time of filing this report. (Daily Trust)
