People of Ihitte Ihube autonomous community in the Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo state have been thrown into mourning following the discovery of remains of their abducted traditional ruler, Eze Paul Ogbu.

Eze Ogbu and a youth leader in the community were kidnapped on Sunday after his palace and vehicle were razed.

But his corpse was discovered on Wednesday and it was conveyed to his palace, while burial plans are underway.

Our correspondent gathered it was another traditional ruler, Acho Ndukwe, who was kidnapped alongside Ogbu, that disclosed that their abductors had killed Ogbu.

Ndukwe was said to have revealed that the kidnappers killed Eze Paul Ogbu in his presence.

Security operatives reportedly went back to the criminals camp with the indigenes and the corpse of the traditional ruler was identified in a ditch.
